Elections

Council decides when to have an election, but there must be at least one election every three years during September. The clerk then puts up a poster telling everyone when the election will be held - the poster must go up no later than August 1st. There are twenty clan groupings in Yugul Mangi. Each clan must send one senior to join the Council. These clans are:

There is no real election day in Yugul Mangi. Each clan tells the Council who they will be sending to represent them. The members of Council are elected or appointed by their clan in a traditional manner usually through negotiation.
Two senior members of the clan must send a letter, in writing, to the clerk to tell who has been appointed Senior and Deputy members of the Council.
